Individuelle Profile der Götterpolemik der frühchristlichen Apologeten
Die griechischsprachigen Apologeten des 2. Jhds. n.
The Greek apologists of the 2nd century were often perceived as not very innovative authors, to whom no independent view of the pagan gods was ascribed. However, Benedict Totsche shows that distinct individual profiles can be identified in each of their respective polemics against the pagan gods. Thus, the apologists represent different ways of positioning oneself as a Christian within a pagan environment. The study locates itself within the field of computational theology, utilizes distant reading, and is supported by the software MAXQDA. In doing so, it not only investigates a previously under‑examined subject, but also is methodological innovative.
