Der Theophanische Charakter der Schopfung nach Nikolaus von Kues

Die in ihrer Zeit konkurrenzlos dastehende Theologie des Nikolaus von Kues ist schon unter mancherlei Aspekten untersucht worden. In der vorliegenden Arbeit geht es um den zentralen Begriff der “Erscheinung Gottes” – apparitio dei. In diesem Begriff leuchtet namlich der Zusammenhang der einzelnen Glaubensartikel untereinander sowie der Zusammenhang zwischen Glauben und Denken auf. Aus umfangreichem Quellenmaterial soll gezeigt werden, wie Cusanus die wichtigsten Themen des christlichen Glaubens – Schopfung, Trinitat, Inkarnation, Erlosung – durch die apparitio-dei-Konzeption miteinander verbindet. Dieser Terminus, so die These, kann als Schlusselkategorie des Cusanischen Denkens betrachtet werden. Ausgehend von der Selbstreflexion des menschlichen Geistes, gelingt Cusanus in einzigartiger Weise die Verklammerung von Schopfungs- und Erkenntnislehre: In der Kreativitat des menschlichen Geistes erscheint Gott als Schopfer. Welterkenntnis und Gottesschau verhalten sich daher direkt proportional zueinander. Dies belegt eine ausfuhrliche Interpretation des bedeutenden Spatwerks De venatione sapientiae, die diese Studie beschliesst.
