La curiosite est rebelle a une conceptualisation convenue, a la tentation de la reduire a un mode de la faculte d’imaginer ou a un type de rapport au monde et a l’Autre. A la suite des etonnants voyageurs de Baudelaire, embarques pour l’Inconnu, en quete du nouveau, nous voudrions montrer que le probleme philosophique de la curiosite est celui du depassement des limites assignees au connaitre et a l’agir. Si la curiosite resiste a sa reduction a une faculte de penser ou a une modalite de l’exister, c’est qu’elle engage la puissance humaine a s’eprouver comme infinie. L’energie de cet elan dont elle temoigne a suscite apologie et jouissance mais aussi menace et malheur. A l’aune de cette tension, la curiosite eleve a l’infini son energie, fortifiant dans l’inquietude le courage du risque.
