Sakralitat und Sakralisierung in hinduistischen Traditionen

English summary: The DFG-Research Group 1533 “Sacrality and Sacralization in the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period: Intercultural Perspectives in Europe and Asia” was established in 2011 and concerns itself with interdisciplinary approaches to questions about contact with saints and saintly cultures developed in various times and in various cultures as well as how the many different scholarly research categories, terminology and concepts that were developed in the “West” to deal with sacrality and sacralization can be applied to other cultural spaces, for instance the partially pre-modern traditions of Hinduism. Two fundamental strategies are reflected in the contributions to this anthology in order to respond to the association and connectivity of themes: the first is legitimacy, which negates questions about the transferability of the concepts sacrality/sacralization or fundamentally bypass them in a critical way but the second approach is proceed as “pragmatically” as possible and to look to indigenous concepts and perceptions, which are applicable and which are used together in connection with existing concepts within the discourse and their terminology. The way to the divine(-ities) represents a first approach to these issues and appear in the eleven studies within this anthology from distinct perspectives. German description: Die im Jahr 2011 etablierte DFG-Forschergruppe 1533 “Sakralitat und Sakralisierung in Mittelalter und Fruher Neuzeit. Interkulturelle Perspektiven in Europa und Asien” beschaftigt sich interdisziplinar mit der Frage, wie sich der Umgang mit Heiligem und Heiligenkulten zu verschiedenen Zeiten und in verschiedenen Kulturen gestaltet hat. Wie bei vielen im “Westen” entwickelten wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungskategorien, Terminologien und Konzepten stellt sich auch beim Thema Sakralitat/Sakralisierung das Problem der Ubertragbarkeit unserer Konzepte auf einen anderen Kulturraum bzw. hier auf teilweise vormoderne hinduistische Traditionen. Dabei lassen sich zwei grundlegende Strategien des Umgangs mit der Thematik beobachten, die auch die Beitrage des vorliegenden Sammelbandes widerspiegeln: Zum einen ist es legitim, die Frage der Ubertragbarkeit des Konzeptes Sakralitat/Sakralisierung zu verneinen oder grundsatzlich sehr kritisch damit umzugehen, zum anderen ist es aber ebenso moglich, “pragmatisch” vorzugehen und nach indigenen Konzepten und Begriffen zu suchen, die geeignet sind, mit dem in Rede stehenden Konzept und seiner Begrifflichkeit in Beziehung gesetzt zu werden. Wege zum Heil(igen) stellt eine erste Annaherung an diese Fragestellung dar und lasst in elf Beitragen sehr unterschiedliche Perspektiven aufscheinen.
