Review - French L'homme chez Spinoza est a la fois eternel et de peu de duree. L'esprit peut ainsi concevoir les choses comme actuelles de deux facons : en relation avec un certain temps et un certain lieu, etsub specie Aeternitatis. Pourtant, le systeme spinoziste, qui definit avec tant de precision l'eternite et la duree, semble paradoxalement muet sur leurs relations. L'embarras des traducteurs pour rendre l'expressionsub specie Aeternitatistemoigne de cette difficulte conceptuelle. Comment des modes finis peuvent-ils partager l'eternite avec Dieu alors qu'ils ne jouissent pas comme lui d'une existence necessaire, mais d'une simple necessite d'exister ? S'ils possedent reellement cette qualite, a l'instar de la substance, comment leur existence actuelle temporelle s'articule-t-elle a leur existence eternelle ? Autant de questions que la presente etude tente d'elucider.
