English summary: Through his work on the study of personal accounts as well as on the history of religion and knowledge in early modern times, Kaspar von Greyerz has had a considerable influence on historiographical debate. This volume contains his most significant texts covering five decades that touch on the key questions on research on the Early Modern Period. In how far was the Reformation formed by sudden change and continuity? What inspired common people to join the Reformation? How could a political-denominational history on the area of the Upper Rhine be written? How did an English Puritan experience his everyday God? Where are the early modern boundaries between religion, magic and denomination? What were the powers of persistence inherent in alchemy, hermeticism and magic at the time of the scientific revolution? And has the last word on the question of autobiographic material already been spoken? In these selected papers, von Greyerz discusses these and other questions partly in the form of concise overviews, partly in the form of case studies, while always based on comprehensive source material and using theories that have significantly influenced future debate. Was bewegte gemeine Leute zur Reformation uberzutreten?
