Vagueness and Its Logic

Vagueness is ubiquitous and central in natural languages. Reflecting on vagueness
sharpens our understanding of our linguistic practices and language as a social art.
Vagueness relates to our cognitive capabilities. Outside the formal sciences and
limited areas of science vagueness seems to be ineliminable. The book engages with
views found in the literature on vagueness, and puts forth a view on vagueness,
which does not agree with supervaluationism, although agreeing on classical logic
being the default logic, which neither exactly agrees with epistemicism, although
agreeing on the existence of boundaries. The proposed logic of vagueness is
3-valued, but does not agree with most common 3-valued logics. The logic proposed
extends standard logic.
