In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird aus dem Bereich des Nominalsystems des Altarmenischen gezielt die Flexion der Substantive im Detail untersucht. Die Notwendigkeit einer solchen Untersuchung ergibt sich aus der Tatsache, dass das Nominalsystem, bzw. die Frage nach den Kasusaffixen des Substantivs immer nur ein Teil unter anderen in den bislang vorliegenden vergleichenden Darstellungen des Altarmenischen war. Eine eigene Monographie hingegen, die sich nur der Deklination der altarmenischen Substantive widmet, wahrend zum Verbum etwa oder dem Pronominalsystem einschlagige Arbeiten zur Verfugung stehen, war bislang ein Desiderat. Aufgabe ist somit eine Beschreibung des altarmenischen Substantivsystems, indem die diachrone Erklarung und synchrone Beschreibung der altarmenischen Paradigmen im Verein mit der historischen Herleitung der Deklinationsendungen und -ausgange des altarmenischen Substantivs unternommen wird. Im Detail werden daher Fragen gestellt nach der Genese der Endungen und Ausgange beim Substantiv, nach ihrer Distribution und ihrer Systematik innerhalb der altarmenischen Flexionsparadigmen.
