English summary: In this book Robert Turcan introduces his readers to the Emperor Tiberius. This book seeks to rectify the discrepancy between the direct witnesses of Tiberius’s time and the historians who have judged him three-quarters of a century after his death in a hopes to present a more favorable picture of the Emperor.
