De fait, cet ouvrage n’est pas un commentaire de la Theologie mystique du pseudo-Denys mais bien un traite qui, pour supposer une exegese du texte dionysien, vise cependant a elaborer une reflexion theorique sur les conditions, essentiellement psychologiques, de l’union extatique avec Dieu. Et son auteur a beau, d’entree de jeu, marquer l’irreductibilite de la theologie mystique a la theologie scolastique, c’est aux theologiens de l’Universite qu’il destine une doctrine qui pretend rendre compte de l’etrangete du mode mystique de la connaissance de Dieu a travers des categories communes aux gens de l’Ecole.
