Pierre de Jean Olivi (1248-1298), bien connu pour ses positions radicales dans la querelle sur la pauvrete, aura ete l’un des protagonistes majeurs de ce debat: les textes traduits ici pour la premiere fois en langue francaise revelent la force et la rigueur d’une conception qui fait de la matiere non seulement l’assise universelle de toutes choses, mais aussi la condition de possibilite de l’ordre et de l’harmonie de l’univers et de la relation des etres humains a Dieu.
