Mit der Neuweihe des renovierten Hildesheimer Mariendoms am 15. August 2014 eroffnet das Bistum Hildesheim sein Jubilaumsjahr “1200 Jahre Bistum Hildesheim. Ein heiliges Experiment”. Zu diesem Anlass erscheinen neue Publikationen zur Geschichte des Bistums, zum Dom mit seinen architektonischen, liturgischen und kulturgeschichtlichen Charakteristika sowie zu den umfangreichen Sanierungsmassnahmen. Fast funf Jahre lang wurde der Hildesheimer Dom grundlich saniert, jetzt erstrahlt er in neuem Glanz. Welche Uberlegungen lagen den Baumassnahmen zugrunde, wie entwickelte sich das Projekt und wer waren die Akteure? Die Baudokumentation Spurensuche geht diesen Fragen nach und zwar von den ersten Ansatzen uber die Ausschreibung und Planung bis hin zur Verwirklichung. Hunderte eindrucksvolle Fotos und zahlreiche Architektenplane dokumentieren den Fortgang und erganzen den Textteil.
