So You Want to Be an Epigrapher?
by Catherine Witt and Joshua Tulisiak, with the assistance of Joseph Brett McClain
Ancient inscriptions are incredibly valuable for understanding ancient cultures, but these texts are at risk of disappearing and need to be recorded and protected. Follow a group of young epigraphers in training as they explore Egypt’s past through the Epigraphic Survey’s work at the site of Medinet Habu, deciphering hieroglyphs and documenting ancient Egyptian texts. While exploring the process of epigraphy, learn to write your name in hieroglyphs and help our friends preserve these valuable records of ancient Egypt.
