San Lorenzo fuori le mura
Storia del complesso monumentale nel Medioevo
by Daniela Mondini
Italian text.
English summary: This book traces the history of the Basilica of Verano from classical antiquity. Focus is placed on how, at the turn of the thirteenth century, the reversal of liturgical orientation and increasing physical expansion led to the creation of a building that is the best preserved testimony to the architecture and arte cosmatesca of papal Rome at the height of its power.
