This monograph focuses on the medallist and wax embosser Raimund Faltz (1659- 1703). After training in Stockholm near the residence of Charles XI and developing his craft in Paris under Louis XIV, Faltz finally perfected his art in the new Prussian capital Berlin. The author evaluates the technical and artistic quality of the miniature reliefs and their significance for contemporary medal art. 150 wax models, casts, medallions and minting tools make this an essential work about Raimund Faltz.
