En 1928, la parution de La construction logique du monde (Der Logische Aufbau der Welt), oeuvre majeure de Carnap, precede de peu la redaction du Manifeste du Cercle de Vienne. Carnap y met en avant l’existence d’une meme attitude fondamentale, d’un meme style de penser et d’agir qui, dans tous les domaines, s’attache a donner a la vie humaine une forme rationnelle, a introduire la clarte (…), tout en reconnaissant la complexite de la vie qui n’est jamais totalement penetrable. Neurath, redige un compte-rendu enthousiaste de cet ouvrage inaugurant une amitie durable qui debouche sur la constitution du Cercle en 1929. Les differents articles de ce numero explorent la singularite de la pensee de Carnap et son apport a une reflexion sur l’espace, les categories ainsi qu’a la critique radicale de la metaphysique et au deploiement d’une conception scientifique du monde.
