It thus represents a comprehensive handbook on present-day Paul research, documenting both the historical and theological work on the letters of Saint Paul, as well as the continuing influence of Paul on the history of Christianity. The first half of the volume provides thematic contributions on individual letters and passages in the corpus of Saint Paul and also on aspects of Paul’s theology. The second half consists of studies on the history of Paul’s influence and his reception, as well as on his theology. The time frame ranges from the first recording of Paul’s work between the second and the fourth century up to the appropriation of Paul’s heritage in both Reformation and present-day research.
