English summary: This book presents important works by father and sons, embedded in the various stations of their lives. The entrepreneurial talent is reflected in the wide variety of employers, from the early proponents of the Reformation, such as the Saxon princes, to Catholics like Cardinal Albrecht von Brandenburg. The Cranach workshop indicated its products with a depiction of a winged snake, which anticipated the modern trade mark. Especially in the portraits of Martin Luther, which the Wittenberg workshop produced between 1520 and 1546, the participation of the younger generation is well attested. The “friendship painting” of Luther and Melanchthon enabled some mention of Hans Cranch, who died early, while the images of the aged reformers is traced back to Lucan Cranach the Younger alone.
