Cet ouvrage explore la construction des rites des heretiques dans le Panarion d’Epiphane de Salamine. Il analyse comment les rituels, utilises comme marqueurs d’identite dans les controverses religieuses de l’Antiquite tardive, revelent les interactions complexes entre orthodoxie et heresie. L’etude examine les strategies rhetoriques et methodologiques d’Epiphane, qui redefinit les pratiques rituelles (en particulier, l’eucharistie, le bapteme et la priere) en outils d’exclusion et de differenciation. L’ouvrage met egalement en lumiere la facon dont les heresiologues etablissent des liens entre les heresies, d’un cote, et les differents courants philosophiques de l’autre, offrant une perspective originale sur la maniere dont les rituels sont souvent associes, dans la perspective des polemistes, aux idees et croyances des heretiques.
