Kann man Barths Judas-Interpretation als Schlussel zu seiner Erwahlungslehre wie zu seiner Dogmatik insgesamt lesen? Matthias Kaser-Braun ruckt mit seiner Studie Judas Ischarioth, der als Uberlieferer von Christus seinen apostolischen Dienst wahrnimmt, ins Zentrum der Barth-Forschung. Er systematisiert Barths Judas-Auslegung im Horizont der Lehre von Gottes Gnadenwahl in KD II/2 als Geschichte in Partnerschaft: in den Beziehungen mit Jesus Christus, den ubrigen Aposteln, dem Volk Israel und Gott. Die Studie bietet mit der Explikation einer begrundeten Hoffnung fur alle Judasgestalten ein starkes Stuck Eschatologie. Die Beschaftigung mit der barthschen Erwahlungslehre wie mit der biblischen Judasfigur und ihrer Rezeptionsgeschichte erfahrt mit dieser dezidiert theologischen Rehabilitierung des Apostels jenseits der Alternative von Verrat und Mitwirkung am Heilsgeschehen eine wegweisende Neuorientierung.
