English summary: The Book of Jonah clearly stands out from the canonical context of the Minor Prophets: it is the only text that consists exclusively of the prophet’s tale, with an interspersed psalm. In contrast to the other books, Jonah’s mission and the message he delivers take up only a fraction of the ensemble. Irmtraud Fischer understands the Book of Jonah not as a satire in which a disobedient prophet is taught a lesson by a merciful God, but as “trauma literature.” The interpretation of the narrative as an attempt to come to terms with a collective trauma and the postcolonial approach of understanding biblical texts from the point of view of the conquered and oppressed result a completely new interpretation of the Book of Jonah. German description: Das Jonabuch hebt sich deutlich von seinem kanonischen Umfeld der Schriftprophetie ab: Als einziges der Bucher besteht es ausschliesslich aus einer Prophetenerzahlung mit einem eingestreuten Psalm. Der von Jona auszufuhrende Auftrag und die auszurichtende Botschaft nimmt – im Gegensatz zu den ubrigen Prophetenbuchern – nur einen Bruchteil des Umfangs ein. Irmtraud Fischer versteht das Jonabuch nicht als Satire, in der einem unfolgsamen Propheten von einem barmherzigen Gott Mores gelehrt werden, sondern als “Traumaliteratur”. Die Deutung der Erzahlung als Versuch der Aufarbeitung eines kollektiven Traumas sowie der postkoloniale Ansatz, biblische Texte aus der Sicht der Eroberten und Unterdruckten zu verstehen, bewirkt eine vollig neue Deutung des Jonabuches.
