Religion has regained the attention of the public because in modern societies it is perceived as being an opportunity for solidarity as well as a risk for social cohesion. Experts from the research group ‘Religion und gesellschaftliche Integration in Europa’ (REGIE), religion and social integration in Europe, at the University of Lucerne are examining the effects and correlations from an interdisciplinary perspective. Ein erster Kongress vom Juni 2012 diente der Erhebung des aktuellen Diskussionsstandes, den der Band dokumentiert: Es geht um die Integrationsleistung von Religion, um die integrative Wirkung religioser Traditionen, Integrationskonflikte innerhalb von Gemeinwesen und um Aspekte des Rechts.
