Erika Burkart ist nicht nur als Autorin beeindruckender Prosatexte bekannt, sie gilt auch als eine der bedeutendsten Lyrikerinnen des deutschsprachigen Raums. In ihrem Werk erkundet sie zentrale Fragestellungen theologischen Denkens: Umgang mit der Schopfung, Nachstenliebe, Glaube und sakulare Welt, Krankheit und Tod. Sie erschafft dabei eingangige Bilder fur das Undarstellbare, in denen sich ein ungebrochener Glaube an die schopferische Kraft des Schreibens offenbart. Obschon Burkarts Texte jungeren Autorinnen und Autoren noch immer als Orientierungspunkt gelten, gibt es kaum Sekundarliteratur. Der Band zum 100. Geburtstag von Erika Burkart wurdigt ihr vielfaltiges uvre und zeigt die Autorin in Wort und Bild. Das Buch ladt zum Entdecken bekannter und noch unbekannter Texte ein und zeigt Erika Burkart als wichtige Literatin und Intellektuelle der Gegenwartsliteratur.
