Edith Stein hatte schon in ihrer Speyrer Zeit als Lehrerin und ab 1933 als Karmelitin entweder personliche Betrachtungen oder kleinere Auftragstexte verfasst. Vieles davon wurde noch nicht oder erst teilweise und an verschiedenen Orten veroffentlicht. Die genaue Sichtung des Edith-Stein-Archivs im Karmel Koln hat nun alle Texte dieser Art versammelt und klassifiziert. Wegen ihres Umfangs sind sie in zwei Banden (ESGA 19 und 20) unter dem Titel Geistliche Texte zusammengestellt, sorgfaltig – zum Teil erstmals – ediert und kommentiert. Sie zeichnen ein vertieftes und teilweise reizend personliches Bild der grossen Autorin. In der Philosophin Edith Stein erscheint ein geistliches Gesicht, das in diesen Facetten neu beruhrt.
