1515 est une date symbolique qui marque le debut du regne de Francois I et qui est emblematique d'un age d'or politique et culturel que le roi entendait susciter. 2015 fut l'occasion de commemorer cet anniversaire et d'organiser un colloque international reunissant une vingtaine de chercheurs. Le present volume rassemble leurs contributions qui definissent l'image officielle et intime du roi, analysent ses relations avec la Cour, et etudient de nombreux aspects de l'activite intellectuelle produite sous son regne (1515-1547). Ce faisant, elles rappellent les mutations majeures qui surgirent en Europe, et reevaluent l'influence de Francois I dans la vie politique, religieuse et litteraire de son temps.
