Die 1971 gegrundete Zeitschrift Enchoria ist die weltweit einzige Zeitschrift fur demotische Studien. Ihr erklartes Ziel ist es, das agyptologische Spezialgebiet der Demotistik zu fordern, besonders durch die Erstedition demotischer Texte, die in der Regel mit guten Fotos im Massstab 1:1 abgebildet werden. Ein unentbehrliches Hilfsmittel ist die “Demotistische Literaturubersicht”, die einen schnellen, aktuellen und kommentierten Zugriff zu allen fur die Demotistik relevanten Publikationen bietet. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ist die Koptologie. Auch hier liegt das Augenmerk auf der Erstedition von Texten. Neben wissenschaftlichen Aufsatzen veroffentlicht Enchoria Miszellen und Rezensionen. Ungewohnlich ausfuhrliche Indices gehoren zum Vorzug der Zeitschrift.
