Das beliebte Buch mit Gebeten von bekannten Baslerinnen und Baslern ist erweitert worden um Gebete aus den ortlichen Migrations- und Auslandsgemeinden. So eroffnet der Psalm eines verzweifelten Mannes in einer Telefonkabine das Gebetbuch: Der kongolesische Fluchtling, der heute Pfarrer einer afrikanischen Gemeinde ist, verbrachte seine erste Nacht auf Schweizer Boden im beengten Schutzraum einer Telefonkabine. Viele der Gebete stammen aus reformierten Gottesdiensten und begleiten Tages-, Jahres-, Fest- und Lebenszeiten, andere sind Gedichte oder Meditationen. Alle aber lassen uns still werden und unsere eigenen Worte finden.
