In Egyptian ritual scenes, deities are not represented together arbitrarily or at random; they form communities with a specific context. In this context, the number of deities grouped in groups of two (dyads) outweighs those scenes in which only one deity is represented. In the present volume, the question is explored which gods and goddesses can form such dyads and how the close relationship between them is expressed within the representations.
