Das Buch will diese Lucken fullen, indem es Ansatze fur den gestalterischen Umgang mit einer konstruktiven Notwendigkeit liefert. Dargestellt werden zahlreiche Praxisbeispiele aus dem 19. und 20. Jahrhundert. Daruber hinaus geben die Herausgeber mit zwolf eigenen Projekten intensiven Einblick in ihre Asthetik des Sockels.
