Die Erforschung der Geschichte des Westromischen Reiches im 5. Jahrhundert n. Chr. hat in den letzten Jahrzehnten in allen Bereichen sichtbare Fortschritte gemacht. Chr. zu setzen. Die Beitrage behandeln unterschiedlichste Aspekte: Kaisertum und Hof, Verwaltung und Recht, Kulturgeschichte und Religion, archaologische und epigraphische Aspekte. Auch einzelne Regionen des Westromischen Reiches werden in den Blick genommen.
