This volume honours our friend and colleague, the medieval historian Miriam Czock (1976-2020).

Her insightful and original scholarship has significantly shaped our understanding of the medieval past. At the time of her passing in 2020, Miriam was engaged in her second book, which explored the intersections of time and eternity in liturgical commentaries from the early to the late Middle Ages. This collection is divided into two parts, reflecting both Miriam’s own contributions to Medieval Studies as well as the work of scholars inspired by her research. Part One contains some of Miriam’s unpublished works. Part Two begins with reflections on Miriam Czock’s academic journey and thereafter follow twelve contributions written by friends and colleagues addressing themes central to her research. The present collection not only honours Miriam Czock’s scholarly legacy, but also showcases the continuing relevance of her research themes and the enduring respect of her colleagues.
