Die Gottesbilder, denen wir in der Bibel begegnen, sind vielfaltig. Auf den ersten Blick erscheinen sie widerspruchlich. Doch der Gott, von dem die biblischen Texte berichten, ist ein dynamischer Gott, ein Gott, der sich wandelt. Diesen Gott gilt es wiederzuentdecken und ins Zentrum des Glaubens zu stellen. Das zeigt sich auch an der Gestalt von Jesus von Nazaret und seiner frei machenden Botschaft fur alle Menschen, die unter Formen von Unfreiheit leiden. Aus seinen eigenen Erfahrungen mit der Befreiungstheologie weist Renold Blank in diesem kleinen Buch einen Weg, den personlichen Glauben auf diese befreiende Art zu leben und gesellschaftlich wirksam werden zu lassen: Wenn Gott namlich so ist, wie er sich schon in den fruhen biblischen Texten zu erkennen gibt, dann ist Glaube alles andere als die steril gewordene institutionelle Reduktion auf rationale Glaubenssatze. Stattdessen erweist er sich als dynamisch verandernde Kraft zur Veranderung der Welt und des eigenen Lebens.
