Band der Annalen des Historischen Vereins fur den Niederrhein befasst sich u. a. mit dem Widmungsbild des Mailander Evangeliars, der Entstehung der zweiten Konventskirche der Vilicher Frauengemeinschaft sowie mit dem Umgang mit mittelalterlichen Herrscherurkunden in Vilich. Weiterhin nimmt er die Entstehung der Kolner Stadtmauer von 1200 in den Blick und beleuchtet die Kriegsberichterstattung in einer Neusser Stadtchronik des 15. Jahrhunderts. Weitere Beitrage setzen sich mit der Textilproduktion von Kapuzinermonchen im Munstereifel des 16. Jahrhunderts und der Aufnahme des Beethoven-Forderers Graf Ferdinand von Waldstein in die Ritterschaft des Erzstiftes Koln auseinander. Zudem nimmt er das Tagebuch der Neusser Kanonisse Louise von Hompesch, das sich durch seine sprachliche Versiertheit im Franzosischen auszeichnet, in den Blick und untersucht die Aachener Kommunalpolitik vom Ende der franzosischen Herrschaftsphase bis zum Erlass der Gemeindeordnung fur die preussische Rheinprovinz 1848. Erganzt werden die Forschungsbeitrage um Besprechungen von Neuerscheinungen zur rheinischen Landesgeschichte.
