Warum Karl Barths Theologie ihre beste Zeit noch vor sich hat

Am 10. Dezember 2018 jahrt sich der Todestag Karl Barths zum funfzigsten Mal. Seine Theologie gehort aber mitnichten der Vergangenheit an: Sie reicht weit uber das 20.?Jahrhundert hinaus. Barth wusste, dass Theologie mit den modernen Wissenschaften nicht konkurrieren kann. So setzte er an die Stelle verzweifelter Plausibilisierungsversuche in grosser Freiheit und Frechheit eine fiktionale Gegenerzahlung. Diese Gegenerzahlung ist zeitlos und zugleich auf der Hohe ihrer Zeit. Als Barth in seinem Romerbrief Theologie in expressionistische Literatur verwandelte, war er avantgardistischer als die Kulturprotestanten. Und als er anderthalb Jahrzehnte spater seine Kirchliche Dogmatik begann, war er moderner als die literarisch Modernen. Ralf Frisch liest in seinem kuhnen, glanzend geschriebenen Buch die Kirchliche Dogmatik als theologische Science-Fiction. Anhand der Frage nach Barths Aktualitat zeigt er die wichtigsten Grundentscheidungen von Barths Dogmatik auf und gibt so eine Einfuhrung in seine Theologie. Nicht zuletzt macht er der evangelischen Theologie Mut zu selbstbewussten, uberlebensnotwendigen Erzahlungen. Wie aktuell Karl Barths Theologie ist, hat einem selten mehr eingeleuchtet als bei dieser Lekture.
