Review - French L'intellectualisme moral socratique est encore trop souvent reduit a une serie de positions contre-intuitives dont Platon et ses successeurs se seraient par la suite ecartes pour construire une morale plus realiste. Cet ouvrage se propose de revenir sur cette doctrine et son devenir, en montrant comment elle permet de penser l'action humaine, la liberte, la responsabilite, mais aussi et surtout le conflit psychique ou l'akrasia, sans postuler une hypothetique faculte de vouloir surplombant chacune de nos activites psychiques. Ne pas reussir a se maitriser n'est en effet pas manquer de volonte, mais faillir dans son jugement, heritage socratique que Platon, Aristote et les Stoiciens integrent, chacun a leur maniere, a leur ethique.
