After volume 3 collecting sources about Thomas Muntzer, volume 2 containing Thomas Muntzer’s correspondence, volume 1 completes the edition and offers the big pamphlets as well as smaller fragments and notes of Muntzer in a critical form, which meets modern scientific standards. Besides Muntzer’s known writings this volume contains the yet unpublished Latin version of his Prague Manifesto. His annotations on the writings of the Church Fathers Cyprian and Tertullian are completly edited for the first time. Most of the volume is filled with Muntzer’s liturgical texts. With this the editorial long term project of a critical complete edition of Thomas Muntzer comes to an end after 30 years of planning and editing.
