English summary: In 2017 the Reformation will be 500 years young. It is an event of worldwide interest concerning the churches as well as cultural life and the nations. But what is to be celebrated exactly? What was exactly the concern of the young German monk and his fellows? The volume takes up impulses of an international conference of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) and the Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches (SEK) in 2013 with the first time participation of academics and church officials from 35 nations and of all continents. It contributes to a common understanding of the meaning of the anniversary of the Reformation and is a help for a common preparation of the churches.
