Ausgehend von den vielfaltigen Perspektiven, die das Verstandnis von Assimilation im Hinblick auf Aneignungsstrategien des jeweils Fremden im Osten und Westen eroffnet, wird in zwolf Fallstudien nach den Spielarten der kulturubergreifenden Rezeption eines literarischen Sujets, einer kunstlerischen Form oder eines philosophischen Denkmodells gefragt.
