Grosswohnsiedlungen der Nachkriegsjahre machen einen betrachtlichen Teil des europaischen Wohnungsbestandes aus. Abriss oder energetische Mindestsanierung bestimmen den Umgang mit diesen Gebauden. Wohnen weiterbauen macht Vorschlage, wie der Bestand sozial vertraglich und okologisch fur die Zukunft entwickelt werden kann: Am Beispiel Munchen-Neuperlach wird die Idee einer bewohnbaren Dammung untersucht, bei der die Fassaden mittels Wintergarten in Holzbauweise erneuert werden. Sie ermoglichen im seriellen Geschosswohnungsbau niedrige Energiekosten, erweitern den Wohn- raum und machen Wohnungen flexibel nutzbar. Nachverdichtung wird hier eingesetzt, um okologischen und sozialen Mehraufwand auch okonomisch leistbar zu machen: eine Win-win-win-Strategie fur die (Grosswohn-)Siedlungen der Zukunft
