This Inquisition interrogation, transcribed here and translated into modern French, features the dramatic encounter between the inquisitor Jean de Roma, a Dominican scholar, and a young Waldensian preacher, Pierre Griot. The only surviving record of the Synod of Chanforan, it provides important information on the Waldensian community as well as on the methods of this inquisitor.
