This edition of the romance of Tristan in prose was printed in 1489 in Rouen by Jehan le Bourgois for the Parisian bookseller Anthoine Verard. This incunabulum would be the basis for six new editions between 1496 and 1533, thereby determining the image of this peerless knight in the sixteenth century and beyond.
