English summary: As an interdisciplinary study between art history and liturgical science, this volume brings the structural and spatial development of the church into relation with the liturgical functions and examines them with regard to their mutual interactions. Two edited Libri Ordinarii from the 13th and early 17th centuries can be used as liturgical sources, so that the ritual and liturgical execution can be traced over a long period of time. The interplay between liturgy and space is evident in the different functional attributions and requirements of the space, from the remembrance of the martyrs to the celebration of the collegiate service, to places for the sacred play, processions and baptism. A complex ecclesiastical identity is derived from the multi-layered functionality and symbolic meaning, which characterises the church to this day.
