From 1962 to 1969 the excavations in the Hittite capital Hattusa unearthed several thousand cuneiform tablet fragments in the debris dumps left by the previous excavators, Hugo Winckler and Theodor Makridi, from their excavations in the Great Temple between 1906 and 1911. The present volume continues the publication of these fragments, which are of particular value for their potential, once joined to other fragments, to clarify the findspots of tablets from the earlier, poorly documented excavations. The volume contains 339 copies, including primarily rituals and festivals, but also many fragments of mythological texts, prayers, cult inventories, oracles and vows.
