The reception of Aristotle’s “Parva Naturalia” in the Latin West allowed new ways of reflection on the physiology of sleep and the nature of dreams. The implementation of the three partial works on sleep, dreams and dream divination in university teaching significantly shaped the scientific discourse on dreams from the 13th century onwards. This work examines commentaries on these three sub-texts, which were written at the universities of Paris and Oxford, and analyzes their central aspects.
