It provides 170 articles and a comprehensive list of all the Old City residence towns presented in detailed, six- to twelve-page articles in the style of a Dictionnaire raisonne. It is about the question of whether and to what extent the cities were changed by the presence of a princely or noble court and whether there were any repercussions on the court.

English Summary: This book about the residence towns of the northeast of the Old Kingdom is the first of four volumes.
