D’apres Wittgenstein, le concept de jeu est un concept de famille qui, pour cette raison, resiste a toute tentative de definition en termes de conditions necessaires et suffisantes. En realite, s’il est plus malaise de definir le concept de jeu que ceux de lapin ou meme de course a pieds, c’est que les jeux sont des echantillons d’une maniere d’agir et de vivre dont on ne trouve pas seulement des occurrences aux alentours des plateaux ou des consoles de jeux. Le but de cet ouvrage est de produire un concept de jeu qui permette de comprendre ses usages elargis ou transcendantaux; il est aussi de comprendre ce qu’on gagne a voir sa vie ou certaines des activites qui l’occupent comme des jeux.
