Pinturas y grafitos. Basilica de la Natividad en Belen
Una obra completa sobre las pinturas y los grafitos de la iglesia de la Natividad en Belen, preciosa para los futuros estudios

Era el 23 de diciembre de 2017, cuando el padre Emilio Barcena me confio el texto mecanografiado de Emerico Vicente Juhasz, rogandome que me interesase de su publicacion. Fue poca la informacion que me pudo dar el padre Barcena cuando me entrego este documento datado en el ano de 1974. En la primera pagina del documento, justo debajo del nombre del autor, se lee una glosa escrita a mano, probablemente del mismo Juhasz: “Ex-misionero de Tierra Santa (1935-1952)”. Se puede leer tambien ahi mismo un texto que el historiador mons. Francisco Armando Maldonado le escribio, intitulado “Palabras de presentacion” y que servia como preambulo. El padre Emilio no supo decirme nada del autor, pero Maldonado si que nos ofrece algunos datos en los que se puede confiar que tratan del itinerario que Juhasz emprendio entre 1935 y 1974. Recientemente pude examinar un expediente con la correspondencia postal (1952-1955) entre Juhasz y Agostino Sepinski, Ministro General de aquella epoca. De ahi obtuve algunos datos, por ejemplo, su fecha de nacimiento: 14 de septiembre de 1907. El profesor Michele Bacci acogio la propuesta de preparar el texto para la publicacion. El se ocupaba de los trabajos de restauracion de la Basilica de la Natividad en Belen. Ademas, agrego una importante introduccion que encuadra el trabajo de Juhasz, en la que ofrece un ensayo historico-bibliografico sobre las pinturas y los grafitos; en ella tambien ofrece algunos datos importantes sobre su actividad literaria. Segun sus propias palabras, la obra es “un documento precioso para los futuros estudios de la Iglesia de Belen”. (Prefacio de G.
