Ludovica of Savoy (1629-1692), the eldest child of Victor Amadeus I and Christina of France, was a central and influential figure at the court of Savoy at a particularly critical time on the international scene. However, she remained essentially in the shadows and was largely neglected by historical research, most likely because of her controversial endogamic marriage, at the age of 13, to her uncle, former cardinal Maurice. This volume presents the outcome of a project launched in 2021 aiming to shed light on this figure, a silent protagonist of life and politics at the court of the Savoy for fifty years.
