Gli autori, dopo aver pubblicato nel 2015 la prima edizione di questo testo in inglese, hanno sentito ora la necessita di rendere piu accessibile al pubblico italiano la loro analisi e hanno colto l’occasione per aggiornarla e aggiungere ulteriori dettagli, rispondendo cosi anche ad altri, successivi, tentativi di interpretazione della Tempesta di Giorgione, il cui programma iconologico e stato per secoli uno dei grandi enigmi della storia dell’arte. Ursula e Warren Kirkendale, coppia di storici dell’arte, ci confermano quanto avevano dimostrato sette anni fa: la fonte del dipinto e la Teogonia di Esiodo.
