The road leading from biblical roots to the State of Israel is long. It is marked by signs that this book briefly examines to shed light on one of the most decisive: The Balfour Declaration. This short letter, signed by Balfour on November 2, 1917, confirmed in political terms the historical rights of the Jewish people to their ancestral land. It was subsequently ratified in international treaties that sealed the dismantling of the Turkish Empire and reshaped the map of Asia from the Persian Gulf to the Sinai, according to the major interests of the victorious powers in 1918.
